With both parents affected by Alzheimer's Disease Fiona strongly supports the Charlie Crowe Appeal to raise funds for a powerful magnetic resonance scanner which will make possible early diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's. The Newcastle researchers are making innovative strides in solving some of the problems of this terrible disease.

The Ballinger Charitable Trust generously agreed to donate £100,000 towards the new scanner
The scanner appeal received a £50,000 boost from theCatherine Cookson Charitable Trust
The Lord Mayor's Charity Lord Mayor Councillor Brenda Hindmarsh chose the Charlie Crowe Scanner Appeal as one of her three charities to support during her year of office 2010/2011.
